TERMS & CONDITIONS OF CLEANING

Due to the fragile nature of many textiles and trims, we are unable to guarantee a perfect result on every garment. We promise, however, to treat every item with the highest level of skill and care.

Please take note of the terms and conditions outlined below.

Stains, Colour Bleeding, Decorative Adornments & Stitching and Shrinking & Distortion


1.  Garments in general are susceptible to colour bleeding. Indian garments in particular are manufactured with a combination or multitude of colour textiles, fancy work and adornments. Different textiles are dyed indifferent processes by their various manufacturers. Not all dye processes are of equal or similar quality. For this reason we cannot guarantee that colours (even for single colour garments) will not bleed into each other, or fade during the cleaning or drying process.

2.  Due to the delicate nature of the textiles and garments we clean, we cannot aggressively treat stains for removal without the risk of damage to the textile. For this reason  stains may be removed

3.  The quality and construction of decorative adornments such as sequences, beads, etc. and decorative embroidery with gold, silver or other thread varies from garments to garment. This includes cotton or similar thread used to stitch together the garment for manufacture. We do not guarantee that these will not be damaged or distorted during the cleaning or finishing

4.  Although Green Earth cleaning is a solvent based cleaning process, some textiles may be averse to any liquid based cleaning process and may succumb to shrinkage. We do not guarantee that textiles and garments will not shrink during the cleaning or finishing processes.

5.  The above is valid for all textiles and adornments used in the manufacture of garments

Custody and Control

1. All garments are received (including collections), cleaned, finished, packaged, stored and dispatched (including deliveries) entirely at the garment owner’s risk. We bear no liability for damage, theft, or any other method of loss while garments are in our care, or being collected or delivered by our company vehicles.

2. We bare no liability for loss or damage as a result of burglary, fire, or nay other natural or un-natural causes or disasters which result in the loss or damage to garments

3. Customers are to ensure that their personal insurance covers such loss

Allergies and Medical Interactions

1. Our cleaning process is industrial and solvent based. Some customers may experience allergic reactions to our cleaning and finishing process residues; or residues from chemicals stored at our facilities. We bare no responsibility or liability for any such allergic or medical reactions.

Our Cleaning Processes

1. Our cleaning and finishing processes are industrial in nature. Some textiles or garments may experience distortion or failure (rips, tears, etc) during our cleaning and/or finishing processes. This extends to decorative adornments and stitching. We bear no liability for damage during any of our cleaning or finishing processes.

2. We are not textile experts and therefore cannot predict the reaction of any garment or textile colour or manufacture during our cleaning or finishing processes

Curtains and Drapery

1. We consider all textile as subject to shrinkage and distortion.

2. Stains may not be removed; sun damage is NOT reversable

3. We bare no liability for any shrinking, distortion, fading, or any other form of damage during our cleaning and finishing processes.

General and Liability Limits

1. All items are deemed used or ‘second hand’ on receipt. In case of neglect or extraordinary circumstances compensation shall not exceed five times the cleaning price of the individual item cleaning charge as per the invoice. It would the customer’s responsibility to validate the price of the garment.

2. Customers are to ensure that all valuables are removed from the garments entrusted into our care. We bare no responsibility or liability for any cash, jewellery, bank cards  or any item left with any garment entrusted in our care for cleaning

3. All services are to be pre-paid; however items not collected within 3 months will be discarded due to space constraints

Invoicing and Customer Details

1. Customers are to ensure that their correct details are captured in invoices.

2. In case of lost invoices, positive identification (RSA ID card or driver’s licence) matching the invoice details will be required before items are released. No photo-copies, emails, WhatsApp messages, telephone calls or any such alternate method is permitted for collection of items.
